On Saturday, May 20, the City of Texas City and the City of La Marque are joining forces for one big event, designed to help clean and beautify the community.
The event is the Great American Cleanup: Texas City/La Marque Edition, and it will be held on Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Both cities are looking for volunteers to help pick up litter and clean along Texas Avenue (FM-1765) between Hwy. 3 and I-45. Volunteers can be individuals or groups, like churches, sports teams, service organizations, businesses, etc.
All cleanup supplies will be provided. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer unsupervised; volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
