 Department Benefits

  • Hourly Rate of $25.013 for entry level candidates
    • Shift Differential – additional $0.55 for night shift
  • 12-hour shifts with every other weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) off
  • 80 hours paid vacation years 1-5
    • Increases to 120 hours years 6-10; 160 hours years 11-21; 200 hours years 21+
  • Sick time accrual of 8 hours per month
  • Overtime or Compensatory time at a rate of time and half

  • Tuition Reimbursement approved for job-related courses of degree plans
    • Reimbursement of 100% for A; 80% for B; 70% for C
  • Residence Incentive Pay - $250.00 for living in the City of La Marque
    • Includes take-home vehicle
  • Facial Hair and visible tattoos permitted
    • Tattoos must be cleared by chief of police
    • Colored hair dye permitted for female officers (Excludes neon colors)
